Our Story

About Nepal Thread Co.

How We Began

A Founder's Journey to the Himalayas

Nepal Thread Co. began with a single visit to a small weaving workshop in the Kathmandu Valley. Our founder watched an artisan spin raw pashmina fibre by hand, thread by thread, into something extraordinary — and knew the craft deserved a wider audience.

What started as a handful of shawls brought home for friends and family has grown into a small business built on one simple idea: every piece should carry the story of the hands that made it.

The Fibre

Why Nepali Pashmina Is Special

Pashmina comes from the fine undercoat of mountain goats that graze at high altitude across the Himalayas, where the cold climate produces an exceptionally soft, fine fibre.

Nepal's artisans have refined the spinning and weaving of this fibre for generations, producing shawls that are lightweight, warm and remarkably soft — qualities that simply cannot be replicated by machine production.

Our Mission

"To bring authentic Nepali craftsmanship to customers worldwide while supporting traditional artisans."
